Description:

North Pacific, Hawaiian Islands, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A fine example of a lathe-turned wooden goblet featuring finely striated wood graining within the caramel and tangerine hardwood hues. The drinking vessel presents with a discoid foot, a relatively narrow stem, and tall walls that taper to a thin rim that surrounds the deep basin. Lustrous surfaces make this an enticing example of Hawaiian craftsmanship! Size: 3.9" Diameter x 3.9" H (9.9 cm x 9.9 cm)

Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection; ex-M. Kobiashi collection, Hawaii, USA, 1960 to 2000
