Description:

New World, South America, Bolivia, Aymara (Aimara) people, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine textile tunic comprised of tightly-woven camelid (alpaca or llama wool) fibers in hues of chocolate, caramel, and cream. The tunic is made of two separate panels, each sewn together at the midpoint, with a small slit in the center through which one's head would fit. Each panel has thick peripheral borders, and each exterior corner has been folded in and sewn, forming a rounded edge. Size: 23" W x 30" H (58.4 cm x 76.2 cm).
