Description:

West Africa, Mali, Djenne peoples, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A lovely and wearable necklace composed of thirty-one singular, twelve double, and six triple cast-bronze beads. Some of the double beads have two pierced holes, while others have a pierced hole on one end and a large, solid bronze ball on the other. The double and triple beads are interspersed with singular beads to give the necklace an elegant presentation, and a bowtie loop and S-hook capping the terminals. Size: 15.25" L (38.7 cm); size of largest bead: 1.2" H (38.7 cm x 3 cm).
