Rome, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. This is a light blue-green glass jar with a bulbous body and a wide flared neck from the golden age of Roman glass blowing. After the invention of blown glass in the first century CE, glass became easy to mass produce as well as cheaper, and so glass items entered everyday Roman life for the majority of householders.
