Description:

Roman, late Imperial Period, ca. late 3rd to early 5th century CE. A gorgeous glass flask formed from translucent, pale aqua-hued glass with a concave base, a spherical body with a tapering shoulder, a cylindrical neck, and a lightly-rolled rim. Brilliant layers of silver and rainbow-hued iridescence cover the entire vessel and nicely complement the soft blue hues. An elegant example of utilitarian Roman artistry!
