Description:

Native American, North America, Eastern Woodland period, ca. 200 to 1000 CE. A hand-carved stone blade used to till large swaths of earth with its hoe-shaped edge. The sturdy body allows the user to easily grasp and utilize the tool, though thick leather wrappings may have been used to increase the gripping strength. The profile is also somewhat curved along the top side. Size: 3.75" W x 9.625" H (9.5 cm x 24.4 cm).
