Description:

Native American, Southeastern United States, Tennessee, Chattanooga, Hixson / Lake Chickamauga area, early to late Woodlands period, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A large, lanceolate, double-pointed blade with serrated edges, expertly knapped from Dover flint. Due to its impressive size, collectors often refer to this type of blade as a "Tennessee Sword." This blade was purportedly discovered on Dallas Island in the 1930s, just before the island was submerged following the completion of the Chickamauga Dam in 1940. Size: 9.6" L x 1.3" W (24.4 cm x 3.3 cm).
