Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Carchi-Narino Highlands, Narino culture, ca. 500 to 1000 CE. A beautiful ceramic amphora of a classic "bullet" style finished with a highly-burnished surface as well as lovely black-on-red negative resist geometric and linear decoration upon the long neck and bulbous body. Thick red-hued vertical stripes create slender borders between the body's geometric panels, and a singular stripe wraps around the neck. Custom wrought-iron display stand included. Size: 10.6" W x 33.75" H (26.9 cm x 85.7 cm); 41.75" H (106 cm) on included custom stand.
