Description:

Ancient Near East, northwestern Iran, Luristan / Marlik culture, ca. 1500 to 1000 BCE. This is a large redware jug with an ovoid shape and radiating linear designs in a darker red flowing down its body. A small handle rises from the neck to the short, flared spout. Marlik is one of the most famous archaeological sites from this region, a mound or tepe containing a variety of fine objects, some of the nicest from this region and time period - this vessel is in the style of those found at that site. Size: 7.25" W x 10.75" H (18.4 cm x 27.3 cm)
