Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. Gorgeous and quite sizeable, this polychrome vessel presents a classic form with impressively thin vertical side walls above a lower section that gently tapers to the foot. Thin black lines demarcate the decorated walls which are embellished with brilliant abstract ziggurat-like crosses containing circular motifs. All is delineated in a beautiful color palette of red, orange-yellow, a pale, dusty sky blue, and black hues. Size: 6.6" W x 3.75" H (16.8 cm x 9.5 cm)
