Description:

Ancient Near East, Holy Land, Late Bronze Age to early Iron Age, ca. 1500 to 1000 BCE. A large buffware pottery pouring vessel with a flat base, a globular body, a squat neck with a flared trefoil spout, and a hefty handle. Vessels like this example were traditionally used to transport and ultimately pour countless types of supplies such as wine, oil, grains, water and fish, and were typically destroyed after a couple of uses. The condition of this vessel indicates that it was either used very little or perhaps not at all. Size: 15" W x 15" H (38.1 cm x 38.1 cm)
