Description:

Greece, ca. 5th to 3rd century CE. A large, dark grey stone seal with an incised ovoid face depicting a standing woman. She is posed sensuously, her hips curved out slightly, with one arm raised to hold a bowl or some kind of offering. A large hole has been drilled through the back to allow the owner to wear this piece. Size: 0.7" W x 1.3" H (1.8 cm x 3.3 cm); 1.65" H (4.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
