Description:

Ancient Greece, late Dark Ages to early Archaic period, ca. 1050 to 700 BCE. A sizable and elegant fibula brooch formed from a single elongated strip of bronze. A pair of large spirals comprise the majority of the pendant, one with nine rotations and the other with ten, two small loops in the center, and a slender pin on the verso. A small fastener extends behind the center of one spiral and holds the pin within. Covered in lustrous layers of green and blue-green patina, this is a beautiful example from ancient Greece! Size: 2.625" W x 6.125" H (6.7 cm x 15.6 cm).
