Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 28 to 2.6 million years ago. A massive tooth from the prehistoric megalodon shark, the largest shark species to ever exist! This monstrous tooth is natural and unpolished, the gray enamel is smooth and lustrous, the variation due to the minerals and chemicals present in the water as the tooth fossilizes. This is a fabulous example of one of the ocean's most awe inspiring creatures, their jaws could be 10 feet (3 meters) in length and powerful enough to crush a small car.
