Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. A Colima female pottery flat wearing a headdress, armbands, a pectoral with an incised rectangular pendant, ankle bands, and black geometric tattoo marks. The visage shows nicely modeled and incised facial details. Female genitalia, buttocks, and breasts beneath the armpits are well-delineated to underscore her fertility. Applied roundels on shoulders represent scarification. A strong example. Size: 5.125" W x 10.125" H (13 cm x 25.7 cm)

Provenance: Ex - Peter Arnovick, Los Altos, CA
