Description:

Egypt, Old Kingdom, dynasties 18 through 20, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE. Interesting alabaster flask, of a type known as a pilgrim's flask, this example additionally in the form of the human heart - often seen in amulets from this period. Banded alabaster, two small lugs to each side with indentions to allow a cord to suspend it, flared rim once supporting curved handle. Size: 3.625" W x 7" H (9.2 cm x 17.8 cm)
