Description:

Cyprus, Bronze Age, ca. 1450 to 1100 BCE. A well-preserved, earthenware strainer vessel of a globular form with a piriform shaped body, a slightly flaring cylindrical neck that leads to a perforated concave strainer mouth (with 16 strainer holes), and a single tubular spout emerging from one shoulder. The piece was coil-built, its surface scraped when leather hard creating striations across the exterior, and probably slipped. The clay body is of an orange-beige hue with black firing clouds at the upper section and remains of white slip here and there. Size: 8.375" W x 9.5" H (21.3 cm x 24.1 cm)
