Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima/Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a buff clay burnished effigy figure of a woman. She stand with her hands held to her stomach and is dressed with necklace, arm bands, jewelry, and some kind of headdress. Her body is marked with what are either tattoos or scars over her legs and face. This figure is in the rare Autlan style, from a particular archaeological area (rather than the broader designation of West Mexico) in modern-day Jalisco state. Size: 2.6" W x 8" H (6.6 cm x 20.3 cm)
