Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1300 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel of a sizable form with a rounded base, a rotund body with a rounded shoulder, a bulging neck, a flared rim, and a pair of ring handles. A small pair of applied lugs are positioned equidistantly across the body and, though faded, are perhaps representative of birds. Creamy white pigment covers the entire composition with wide straps of applied black pigment adorning the body, neck, and handles. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 8" W x 11.75" H (20.3 cm x 29.8 cm).
