Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A hand-built and stone-burnished pottery vessel of sizable form with a hemispherical base, tapered walls, and a thick, flared rim. The beige-hued exterior is embellished with hand-painted black and red motifs consisting of linear forms, stepped blocks, zigzagging bands, and mirrored triangles, all above an undecorated base. Size: 9.27" Diameter x 8.125" H (23.5 cm x 20.6 cm)
