Description:

North Africa, mid-Cretaceous period, ca. 100 to 93 million years ago. A nice example of a Carcharodontosaurus tooth, fossilized to a handsome red color from taking on the iron rich minerals in which they were deposited and with red sandstone filling in the interior, from a massive dinosaur that lived in modern day Morocco during the Middle Cretaceous period. Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest land predators to ever live, a carnivorous dinosaur that had a similar form to the rock star of dinosaurs, T-Rex, but lived millions of years before it. Carcharodontosaurus is named after the shark Carcharodon, whose name means "jagged/sharp teeth". Size: 1.25" W x 3.5" H (3.2 cm x 8.9 cm); 4.15" H (10.5 cm) on included custom stand.
