Byzantium, ca. 6th to 12th century CE. A sizeable silver ring with a stunning floral face, the details incised, delineated in relief, and gilded - with traces of blue glass inlays in the petals. The wide shank is comprised of hammered silver sheet and presents two registers of incised decorations - the upper register with upside down "v" forms, the lower one with repeated vertical frets. US ring size 8.25; Weight: 14.7 grams; Size: floral table measures .875" in diameter (2.2 cm); shank measures .875" in diameter (2.2 cm)
