Native American, Southwestern USA, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1100 to 1200 CE. A wonderful pottery jar presenting a voluminous form with a raise, tubular mouth and a brief flattened shoulder that dramatically slopes out to a broad hip, all sitting upon a rounded base. Adorned with mesmerizing, black on gray decoration, the exterior features a horizontal band of triangles around the neck and geometric spiraling motifs filled with parallel striations across the body. A pair of unique, recessed handles sit just below the hip. Size: 13" Diameter x 12.5" H (33 cm x 31.8 cm)
