Northwestern United States, Alaska, ca. 1950s CE. A carved wood skier figure covered head to toe in fur, standing on wood skis and a circular wood base. A label underside the base lists each animal used: a coyote hood, fox arms, skunk torso, beaver upper legs, fox lower legs, elk hair ankle cuffs, and rawhide boots and ski pole baskets. This piece is unsigned. Size: 15" L x 12" W x 19" H (38.1 cm x 30.5 cm x 48.3 cm)

Provenance: private Alamo, California, USA collection, before 2000; ex-Leon Lafortune estate, Vancouver, BC, Canada, 1950s
