Western Asia, Persia (Iran), ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A large, charming bronze cooking vessel, standing on three zoomorphic feet, with a broad body, conical neck, and ornate lid that swings open on a hinge by the handle. The delicate handle features an abstract avian form. The underside has a perforated pan for distributing heat when this vessel was placed over a flame. Size: 10.8" W x 15.5" H (27.4 cm x 39.4 cm)
