Description:

Pre-Columbian, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, Tihuanaku (Tiwanaku) culture, ca. 400 to 600 CE. Rare and striking ensemble of twin silver pectorals. Starting with lower, thick hand-hammered silver sheet in large crescent shape from which 23 silver dangles are suspended. Drilled at corners for suspension onto a tunic. Above the main pectoral is a smaller abstract pectoral, also of hammered silver sheet in abstract, possibly avian, design - also with twin suspension holes. Size: 9.75" W x 8" H (24.8 cm x 20.3 cm); 9" H (22.9 cm) on included custom stand.
