Cambodia, Khmer, Ca. 12th Century CE. Originally serving a religious purpose, this vessel has been shaped in a conch shell form with floral patterns on the front and subtly on the back. The tripod stand has snake figures on each leg and supports the conch shell vessel with a flared circular base and four blossoms. Piece has developed an excellent patina with hints of azurite on both the conch shell and its tripod. Mineral deposits as shown. Intact. Shell measures 9"L x 4-1/2"W. Stand is approximately 3"H.
