Southeast Asia, Cambodia, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. A pair of terracotta figures with heavy brown glaze over much of their surfaces. The first is a hen, seated with its wings drawn in to its body and its tail feathers up, as if sitting on a nest. The second is a kneeling human figure, its hands raised to its stomach, where it holds something that cannot be discerned. Size of largest (human): 2.05" W x 3.95" H (5.2 cm x 10 cm)
