Description:

Khmer, Cambodia, ca. 1100 to 1300 CE. This bronze bowl has clear signs of being cast which create a beautiful series of small, barely visible lines throughout the non-patinaed surfaces of the piece. It was most likely created for household use. Size: 7" x 7" x 3".

Provenance: Ex-private New York, New York collection; ex-private Wagner collection, Cape Cod, MA, acquired in 1960's

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany all winning bids. #101250

  • Condition: Mostly intact bowl with patina over approximately 30% of the body and some places, particularly on the exterior, where the bronze work really shines through. There are two cracks around the upper edges of the bowl, but they do not challenge the integrity of the piece.
