Cambodia, Khmer Empire, ca. 13th century CE. A striking weapon that demonstrates the masterful conquering of bronze and iron work that Cambodian craftsman had achieved during the Khmer Empire. Overall long and of crescent shape, with iron blade having one edged sign, round hilt, and carved wood handle, over which is a cast bronze cylinder handle with applied bronze ribs and pommel cap. A great well preserved exmaple, especially interesting with the use of iron, bronze, and wood. Custom stand. 29"L.

Provenance: Ex-D. Smith Collection, CA, acquired between 1968 - 1971.
