East Asia, Japan, Meiji Period, ca. 1868 to 1912 CE. A pretty Arita ware and Imari style porcelain dish with unique sides that curl inward. The surface is painted in characteristically bright colors, primarily red with gold highlights on an ivory white ground. The scenes reflect an idealized version of Edo Japanese culture, the focus of much Meiji artwork. Size: 5.2" L x 4" W x 1.25" H (13.2 cm x 10.2 cm x 3.2 cm)
