Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque) culture, ca. 500 BCE to 500 CE. A hand-built pottery face mask of stylized form boasting layers of vibrant orange and green pigment across the obverse. Masks of this size were perhaps votive offerings or gifts intended to be buried with the dead. Size: 2.3" L x 4.7" W x 4.5" H (5.8 cm x 11.9 cm x 11.4 cm)
