Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built pottery female figure standing nude atop tall, delineated legs and petite feet. Decorated with red and tan slip, the woman presents with both arms out to her sides, globular breasts protruding from just inside rounded shoulders, and a lightly distended abdomen hanging over her red-painted waistband. Her elongated head exhibits a pair of coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, a red-slipped mouth, and petite earspools, all beneath a massive forehead topped with a simple cap. Size: 3.4" W x 7.9" H (8.6 cm x 20.1 cm); 8.3" H (21.1 cm) on included custom stand.
