Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hollow bichrome pottery figure depicting a seated female with characteristically elongated head, hands held to her protruding perhaps pregnant belly, shown nude save ear ornaments and banded turban style headdress, with added red pigment to highlight areas. A lovely figure with a visage comprised of coffee bean eyes, curved long nose, and full lips, displaying and expression of focussed concentration. Size: 5.25" W x 8" H (13.3 cm x 20.3 cm)
