Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, Ameca type, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A hand-built and stone-burnished pottery male figure sitting nude while holding one hand behind his head and the other out in front of his shoulder. Each shoulder is adorned with several ritual cicatrice spots, perhaps a sign of masculinity in ancient times, and the elongated brow is wrapped with a patterned belt. Size: 4.625" L x 6.8" W x 9.625" H (11.7 cm x 17.3 cm x 24.4 cm)
