Near East, Islamic, ca. 7th to 12th Century CE. Islamic, medieval-period oil lamp from ancient Persia, made of pottery, displays a very narrow pinched spout for a wick, reflective green glaze, a raw earthen-tone body that is rough to the touch, and a slightly-raised circular base. Darker glaze excess is observed as several dots around the spout and a single drip trail along the backside. Museum-quality Lucite stand included. Size: 3.125" L x 2.875" W x 1" H (7.9 cm x 7.3 cm x 2.5 cm). Height on stand: 4.125" H (10.48 cm).
