Description:

Middle East, Islamic, ca. 17th century CE. A beautiful 16 karat gold ring with an oval ruby cabochon that is quite sizeable. The ruby presents a magenta red hue with strong saturation, translucency, and wonderful brightness. The 16K gold setting is also marvelous, featuring twin birds forming the shank - their pronounced beaks opening to either side of the substantial bezel - both sides of which present an engraved image of a deer prancing toward the right with his head facing backward. In a word - breathtaking! US ring size 7.5; Total weight: 7.6 grams; Size of cabochon: .5" L x .375" W (1.3 cm x 1 cm)
