Josepie Ningiok Kupirkrualuk (First Nations Canadian, Inuit, b. 1930) "Fox & Seal," soapstone carving, signed on the underside. The sitting fox is carved separately and attached via a wood peg to the stone base. The seal is integral to the base, resting but alert. The artist's disc number (E9 10 32) and Inuktitut syllabics are engraved on the base, and a old label sticker with the artist's name. Kupirkrualuk is an Inuit artist living in the northern Quebec town, Salluit, and his work has been gallery and museum exhibited. Size: 4.75" L x 6" W x 4.2" H (12.1 cm x 15.2 cm x 10.7 cm)
