First Nations, Canada, Inupiaq / Inuit people, ca. late 20th to 21st century CE. A hand-carved soapstone sculpture of a man standing on one leg with a bola in one hand, formed by bundle of rawhide cords and antler discs. The man is caught midstride as he balances on one leg, ready to hurl a bola at a prey animal. Although unsigned, this piece closely resembles other figures by the Canadian Inuit artist, Wayne Puqiqnak (b. 1975). Size: 5" L x 2.25" W x 5.75" H (12.7 cm x 5.7 cm x 14.6 cm)
