Native American / First Nations, Northwestern United States, Alaska, and Canada, Inuit culture, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A collection of various Inuit carved sculptural pieces and gaming dice. The miniature dice are inside a carved bone bullet shaped capsule, the lid unscrews from the top. The elongated animal head is carved from antler, and the webbed foot is carved from soapstone - these two probably fragments, once attached to a larger base or statue. The pitted whale bone base has a soapstone head of a hooded man - perhaps emerging out of water or snow? Size of stone head sculpture: 4.75" L x 3.75" W x 3.5" H (12.1 cm x 9.5 cm x 8.9 cm); dice capsule: 1.75" L x 0.5" W (4.4 cm x 1.3 cm)
