Native American / First Nations, Northwestern United States, Alaska or Canada, ca. 20th century CE. A hand carved double sided or Janus style head of a man wearing a parka hood; one face with pouting, downturned lips, and the other with slightly open mouth revealing teeth. The piece is probably carved from caribou or marine mammal bone, the underside is signed in in Inuktitut syllabics and a number as an identifier. Size: 1.5" L x 2.75" W (3.8 cm x 7 cm)
