Pre-Columbian, central coast of Peru, Chancay, ca. 900 to 1200 CE. Pottery molded figure of a beggar. He sits on his haunches, holding a small cup in his hands, with added heavy dark brown pigment, relief features including his headdress, facial elements and stippled design on his upper torso. Wonderful painted decoration on his face! Size: 5" W x 8" H (12.7 cm x 20.3 cm)
