Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A thin-walled ceramic stand of open-ended hourglass form, made for placing a vessel atop it. The body of the stand is extensively decorated on the exterior with abstract symbols painted with red and black pigment on the buff vessel body - eyes, mounds, pathways, feathers, and lines form a mesmerizing pattern. Size: 2.95" W x 3.9" H (7.5 cm x 9.9 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
