Description:

Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Mehrgarh period, ca. late 4th to early 3rd millennium BCE. A hand-built pottery 'mother goddess' figure in a seated position with bent knees and arms extending out from broad shoulders. Remains of orange pigment are visible across her chest ornament and down her belly, and black-painted bulbs of hair define her coiffure beneath a simple headwrap. Size: 1.9" W x 4.625" H (4.8 cm x 11.7 cm); 5" H (12.7 cm) on included custom stand.

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.
