Description:

Central Asia, India/Pakistan, Indus Valley civilization, Harappa, ca. early 2nd millennium BCE. A handsome ceramic ram with adorable horns curled tightly on the sides of its head, a broad-shouldered, powerful body, and a collar around its neck. Finely painted black lines give it the appearance of having a wooly body. Its back legs are joined together, emphasizing the strength of its curved rump; its front legs are short, rounded cones. A single perforation on one side of the shoulder suggests that it may have been attached to a stick and used as a puppet or carried in a procession. Size: 5.55" W x 2.95" H (14.1 cm x 7.5 cm)
