Description:

Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A hand-built, near miniature terracotta bull with nicely delineated facial features, small horns, and a yoke/collar decorated with incised circles. Though missing two legs, it is thought most were ceremonially 'killed' before entering the ground. Bulls are a significant symbolic animal in this civilization's iconography, most likely representing both strength and virility. Custom stand. Size: 2.75" L x 1.75" H (7 cm x 4.4 cm); 2.125" H (5.4 cm) on stand
