South Asia, Indus Valley, Harrapan / Mohenjo Daro, ca. 2800 to 1800 BCE. A lovely, thin-walled wheel-thrown pottery vessel, in hues of beige and orange, with a short foot, wide sides, a thin rim, and decorated with a single bird, two long-horned ibexes, with various flora, and all enclosed by two solid black lines above and below. A well-preserved example of this ancient culture! Size: 3.875" W x 3" H (9.8 cm x 7.6 cm).

Provenance: private R.D. collection, Long Beach, California, USA, acquired over 25 years from various major galleries.
