Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. mid-20th century CE. A forged-steel presentation sword known as a kris with a wavy steel blade attached to a nickel-silver handle wrapped with thin wiring. Above is a hand-carved wooden pommel resembling an abstract bird, and the wooden blade housing is topped with a form-fitting guard protector. Size (w/ sheath): 1.1" L x 7" W x 27.25" H (2.8 cm x 17.8 cm x 69.2 cm); (blade): 20.25" L x 4.75" W (51.4 cm x 12.1 cm)
