South Asia, India / Burma border, Nagaland, Naga people, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautiful set of necklaces strung with thousands of either orange or green resin beads. The green-hued necklaces exhibits a 50-strand design while the orange necklaces bears 52 strands, and each is capped with a perforated coin button clasp. These necklaces were made and used by the Nagas in ceremonies, and not intended for tourists as far as we can tell! Size of largest (orange beads): 20.5" L (52.1 cm)
