Description:

South Asia, India, ca. 20th century CE. A brass figure of Buddha shown seated in lotus position atop a double lotus pedestal and left hand in the abhayamudra of reassurance and safety. Gazing forth from downcast eyes, the deity displays a tranquil visage of a pointed nose and gentle smile, all crowned by a coiled coiffure and round ushnisha and flanked by a pair of bellowing ears. A slender strap diagonally crosses his bare chest as he gestures with his right hand. A perfect sculpture for a meditation garden! Size: 13" L x 17.5" W x 22.8" H (33 cm x 44.4 cm x 57.9 cm)
